Green Drain models are tested by 7 independent laboratories across 4 continents. Key performance numbers from independent lab testing:
These certifications confirm Green Drain meets plumbing code requirements for barrier-type floor drain trap seal protection devices.
Barrier-type floor drain trap seal protection device. Certified by IAPMO R&T. Recognized by the International Plumbing Code (34 states) and Uniform Plumbing Code (12 states) as a code-compliant alternative to water-fed trap primers.
Assessed under EAD 180020-00-0704 for waterless odour traps. Validated performance characteristics: 200 Pa odour tightness, Class A thermal resistance, mechanical resistance exceeding 400 Pa (most models exceed 700 Pa), and flow rates across the full model range.
Certified under WMTS-522:2021 by IAPMO R&T Oceana. Required for plumbing products installed under the Plumbing Code of Australia. Accredited by JAS-ANZ and ABCB.
Danish national approval for plumbing products under the VA Godkendelsesordningen scheme. Confirms Green Drain meets Danish building regulations for waterless trap seal devices installed in floor drain applications. Required for products used in Danish plumbing systems.
Documentation demonstrating that Green Drain's ASSE 1072 certification and cUPC listing meet or exceed Ontario Building Materials Evaluation Commission requirements for barrier-type trap seal devices.
These certifications confirm Green Drain meets food safety, material safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
Confirms Green Drain materials meet food equipment safety standards. Dual certification covering both company (C0571796-01) and manufacturing facility (C0571797-01). Accredited by ANSI (ISO/IEC 17065) and SCC.
Independently evaluated and endorsed as supporting food safety objectives under the HACCP framework. Classification: SSZ (Splash or Spill Zone). The evaluation confirmed the product is "suitable for use in the food industry and free from hazards to food safety."
Independent testing by CTT (Report CTT2007011136EN) confirmed no detectable levels of lead or phthalates (DEHP). The product can be sold in California without warning labels and poses no significant risk under Proposition 65 criteria.
Beyond certification requirements, Green Drain has been tested by independent laboratories for pathogen blockage, material durability, pressure resistance, and chemical compatibility.
Greater than 99.9% retention of aerosolized MS2 bacteriophage (ATCC 15597-B1, a validated viral surrogate). Control group without Green Drain measured 18,000 to 72,500 PFU. Test group with GD3 measured below detection (<5 PFU) across all 3 rounds.
Tested to EAD 180020-00-0704:2018 by the Danish Technological Institute. Confirmed odour tightness at 200 Pa with zero pressure drop, mechanical resistance exceeding 700 Pa for most models, thermal cycling stability (1,500 cycles at 93C/15C), and verified flow rates across the model range.
Independent testing at DTI (Taastrup, Denmark) covering vacuum and pressure resistance (all models exceed 400 Pa), self-cleaning capability after temperature cycling, water flow rates compliant with EN 1253-1, and pull-out resistance exceeding 5 kN in both PP and stainless steel gullies.
Tested to ASSE 1072-07(2013), Section 3.9. Split tear strength measured at 23.38 kN/m, which is 93 times the minimum requirement (0.25 kN/m). No brittleness at -40F. Initial elongation of 656%. Passed ozone resistance (100h at 150pphm), chemical resistance (sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide), and UV resistance (500h exposure).
Tested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute for the Japanese market. Green Drain was soaked for 24 hours in four commercial cleaning chemicals (sodium hypochlorite, fungicide, acidic cleaner, alkaline cleaner) and subjected to thermal shock cycling from -10C to 100C per MIL-STD-202G. No change in color, shape, hardness, or material condition.
